I have a question that might be stupid about livewell operation. I've never had one, I use my fwd LW as a cooler. Well I must have hit the switch to fill it up and cooled my sodas with lake water yummy. I keep the rubber plug in the bottom of the live well. Is there a way to pump it out while on the water or once it is filled that is it. My drain for the fwd is on the lower transondown low. By the way this is a 2007 19' Smokercraft with the small LW on the fwd lt and the large LW aft ctr. Thanks

Unless your livewell drain is under water, just remove the rubber plug and it should drain out. If it is underwater and the drain is in the transom, it should drain if you pull the plug while underway. Just remember to reinsert the plug before you stop!

Re: Livewell Operation

I have a short length of garden hose attached to the drain on the bottom with a ball valve for on an off. I keep the hose wound up and tucked behind the tank. When I want to drain it on the water, I open the valve, wait for some water to come out of the hose then plug it with my thumb and throw the hose end over the side, into the water. This actually creates a suction as you drive and will completely empty the tank quickly.
