livewell switch problems

I have a 1995 tracker pro deep v. The switch for the livewell turned really hard and it eventually came off the linkage. I tried putting it back on but it keeps popping off when I turn the switch. Do I need a new cable or is something else happening to make it so hard to turn therefore popping the cable off? When the cable is off the switch turns freely, so I know the switch and linkage is fine.

Re: livewell switch problems

your talking about an electrical switch to turn the pump on and off or a mechanical switch for opening and closing the live well drain??

if it is a mechanical switch then the cable was too tight and thats why it popped off there should be a loosening/tightening mechanism to adjust tension much like a bicycle shift or brake cable. if it is an electrical switch the switch needs to be replaced.
