A guy came into my work ( tire shop ) who knew who i was, and looked familiar to me. He asked how I was and everything and then told me he just got rid of the old red boat we used to have. Which was my dads iconic 1973 StarCraft chieftain that we restored when I was a kid. It had a tree fall on the cabin before we got it but somehow my dad jacked the roof back into shape and replaced the glass. My mom re covered and re did the animal destroyed interior. Nobody ever believed it was at one time considered a total loss. Fished the boat for many years until we got a little newer glass boat but it was never the same…. Turns out the guy is moving to Florida so he got some new tires, and the old boat was one of the last things he had to get rid of. Had I known I could have gotten it. what I would give to have it back. My dad painted it to match his 97 ford F150 he had. Originally it was banana yellow…perhaps I’ll look for another but it may never be the same

nothing like boats from our child hoods. maybe the new owner has buyers remorse and you can chase it down

it would be awesome if it happened. The only reason I don’t have a chief or an islander is I haven’t found one at the right time… but that boat is the reason I have 2 StarCrafts of my own.
