Location of model #, serial #

I recently purchased a used boat with a johnson 25 hp engine. As the engine was painted camo, I am looking for where I would find model # and serial # infomation on the engine. Engine runs pretty good, but will need the info for future reference.<br /><br />Thanks for the help!

Welcome to iboats fechitupup...!<br /><br />Look on the port (left) transom bracket for a metal tag. It'll have model and serial number on that. Or, look on the engine block for a large core plug. The same will be stamped in there.

OBJ, thanks for the info. I don't remember seeing a tag on the port side, but I will look again and if not check the engine block. This is a great site!!
