The obvious answer to me is to keep vandals from putting junk (water, sugar, soda, etc.) in your gas tank at a public marina.

Now, does anyone know of a manufacturer of locking gas cap for a portable fuel tank? I am having the same problem.

Thanks,

I'd address that problem with the marina. Does it really happen, or are just you afraid it might?
The OP (5 years ago) wanted to lock the can. I use a bicycle cable; lock tothe can, under the seat and to the motor. Enough to keep an honest man honest.

If you're that worried about it don't leave it on the boat

Pile some old, dirty, wet rags on top of the tank...punks and vandals don't want to get their hands dirty!

Take tank and fuel line with you when you leave.
