I have removed the bolt holding the optical sensor/timing wheel onto the top of the crankshaft on my Johnson 150. My manual says that you need to use OMC Locquic primer and OMC HT 400 or equivalent when refastening the bolt.

Does anyone know whether I can use Loctite products for this (& which)?

Re: Locquic primer & HT 400

Can anybody offer advice? This is for fastening a stainless bolt to the top of the crankshaft. Would medium strength Loctite (243) be OK for this? I guess the primer gives a faster cure but is it really needed?
