Re: lonewolf5347 to trophyman

Lonewolf, I have to apologize for not responding to your request but i have been away for a week and then busy boating so I haven't been back to this forum for a while. to answer your question about the Temp Guage sending unit, I installed it on top of the powerhead just above the Thermostat. There was a nylon plug inplace previously. All the wiring was in place - just a matter of determining which wire was which up at the helm. I have a 96 Force 120, if thats any help. Again, my apologies fro not responding, you've given me some advice in the past and it has been greatly appreciated. :D

i seen that nylon plug on top of the water jacket housing.could not figure what that was ,but what i did instead install temp. sending unit that read surface temp on the center of the head;between 1@2 spark plug wire. was out running and it read 110 degrees on the temp gauge.did you have to drill out the plug and tap it for a treaded sending unit?i see by your address you are also in long island; great day last week at jones inlet flukeing had 6 keepers

Lonewolf, the nylon plug came out easily when i installed the temp unit, the motor was fairly new. It was quite easy. wiring wqs all there too. Where did you get six keepers? out by the Meadowbrook bridge and all we had were shorts. I need to venture out into the ocean, but even though I've been baoting about 20 years, mostly the north shore western sound, only recently (5 years or so) in the south bay.
