Check your load, bearings, grease, etc. and distance of haul won't matter. Every rest/fuel stop feel bearings/hubs for heat, check your load, keep on rollin'. I keep a spare tire/wheel, and a spare hub assembly in my trunk just in case. You can buy the entire hub/bearings/seals, all greased and ready to go at Northern Tools for about $30, good insurance! Good Luck!

^^^Agree, all you can do is pull off the cover/or bearing buddy check for water intrusion check for play, but if your going to pull them off for an inspection you may as well just replace for a couple of bucks.

All the above and make sure that your tires are pumped up to the proper pressure.. Nothing worst then having to change a tire on the road.

Everyone here is giving you sound advice and I would replace them and install the bearing buddies myself if I hadn't allready done it, you will love them......mostly, what your going to find is that you will want a nice wax on your wheels for the long haul as the bearings will heat up and the grease will break down and leak all over the wheels. A decent wax makes cleanup a snap and you simply pump some more bearing grease back in, piece of cake. I go to Powell once or twice a year, 500 mile trip one way, temperatures range from 90 to 105+ degrees so the bearings take a beating. Good Luck!
