long shaft on a sib

ok, lil history. i have a 12 foot zodiak, powered with a 18 horse shortshaft. i recently aquired a 25 horse longshaft. i used the search function, got lots of answers, and long story short, can it be done without raising the motor or converting it to a short shaft? id try it as is, but boat ramps are closed due to rivers way high from rain...

Using a long shaft on a short shaft transom, at plane will have more tail drag, water entering rear transom and worst max speed, to convert will cost lots of $$$$, better buy a engine mount, fastest installation and least expensive.
