I hope Muc can help me with this. I have a 2011 5.7 SGI 300-C In a Cobalt. I have replaced the EGC. , the engine, O2 probes, Map sensor, throttle position sensor, and throttle positioner. Also the coil and ignition module are new also. The engine runs fine most of the time, but sometimes I get an alarm and reduced power 2500 rpms. When I get home, I hook up the Rinda to check it out, and it's the Long term fuel learn alarm. To reset this, the Rinda takes me to the fuel injection section, and I erase the long term fuel memory. Boat seems to run perfect before this alarm comes in. I do have one suspect though. When replacing the throttle postioner, I was too cheap to pay 300.00$ for the Volvo one, so I bought a Delco one for a 2000 truck for 60.00. I have started to take the Rinda with me on the lake. Any suggestions? Dave-R

you may want to tag muc to get his attention......

as for the TPS, Volvo buys the TPS mounted on the motor from GM. GM buys the TPS from a Tier 1 supplier. you can buy them for about $10 - $20 depending on if its completely sealed or not direct from the company that makes them.

Hope muc comes along to assit.
Found that there is Long Term (LT) and Short Term (ST) lean alarms. They are recorded by the EGC from the O2 sensors. This could be from a defective O2 sensor, vacuum leak or other. Since you just replaced parts, this is where I would first have a look, maybe something is not fully sealed. Here is a good write up

You mentioned LT alarm, but there should be a listing of which bank, or is it both banks?

Happy to help if I can. Catching me at a bad time --- busy at work and sick. Might not be to fast with my responses.
A serial number makes it much easier for me.
So many parts replaced ---- sinker or lightning strike?
I have so many questions, tried to pull up your history on iBoats and it says last post was 2002 guess the site is having problems. Maybe you can point me to some history?
Can you use to Diacom "record" function to post a running file?

Fuel trims being out of whack will burn out your catalyst if they aren't already bad.

Thanks Muc and Scott: She was a sinker. About the only thing not replaced with original parts are the O2 probes, which are Walker Marine that replace both Mercruiser and Volvo penta, and the throttle positioner which is one from I think a 2000 yr. truck. When I tested the o2 probes they all passed the Rinda test. Both before and after the Cats. The cats look like new, I think they stayed inside an air bubble when she went down. It also passes all the throttle tests also. When doing the fuel injector tests everyone of them work perfect. I will try to get a engine serial #. Thanks to you both. Dave-R
