I need to put my boat into storage for at least 18 months maybe 30 months. I know how to deal with everything except for the fuel tank. I'm afraid fuel stabilizer won't last that long. The the fuel tank is steal and I was thinking of draining it then I worry of moisture rusting it out. Any ideas?

If you drain it then you shouldn't have any condensation. If you can get it all out for the most part then I would just dump in some stabilzer to protect it

You storing the boat inside for that long?

I would think if you drained the tank, and thats the best bet for long term storage your will be fine.

I dont think youll get much condensation if at all and worring about the tank corroding isnt a big issue. I would pur in some stablizer as suggested, it sure couldnt hurt any.

I plan on draining all my gas when I stop using my boat this winter. I have a plastic take and my boat will sit in my garage. I dont want to use any gas that ssits a long time in my new engine.

Agree, drain. If it sits for 30 months you will drain it anyway and have to dispose of it. Maybe even after 18 months if you are in warm weather. Gas will last longer if the weather freezes.
Drain it now you can burn it in your car.

Drain it and air it out..that 18/30 could turn into a LOT more time..and I BET it will..been there, done that..
