Look what i brought home...Bayliner restore

well i finally brought it home...1983 Bayliner 21' Capri Cruiser.

think i did pretty good...maybe. the motor has been serviced twice a year since it was bought new. got it from the original owner. motor purrs like a kitten and the hull is perfect. outdrive is in great shape and you couldnt ask for much more in a trailer.

i think i did pretty good. check out the photos of the work i have in store for me the next couple of months.

hi there great boat looks very clean, just be sure to do a regular tune up before you put it on the water, enjoy.

Imperial thats a pretty boat but dont you already have one for SWMBO when do you get your fishin boat ( which is what the last one was sposed to be ) . Do you get to return the Imperial to fishin duty now .

Imperial SWMBO is ( she who must be obeyed ) the boss the little lady in charge . The one who cons us into changing our nice little brown fishin boat into a pretty red and white one .

SWMBO says that the money from this ones going towards a new pontoon.

...however, the father n law just bought a bass boat so ive got a cpl boats to fish out of...for now...lol

well, i started cleaning the cuddy out today. i guess i should have expected this...ive more work to do than i thought. i enjoy doing the work, but id like to get it in the water pretty soon. looks like im gonna be rebuilding the motor box and rear seats and replacing the cabin doors.

Since i have to do more, i have decided to go all out. in order to do so im selling the imperial. i dont know how to list my thread on pricing the imp but ive got one if you wanna take a look.

did some core samples also...VERY PLEASED!!! it has rained here for the last few days and the wood was bone dry. SOOOOO HAPPY!

anyway...when i get aome progress ill post some pics.

a hard top would look great on that boat...however, our summer is really spring-summer-fall and we have very mild winters. we love the sunshine. ill probably just get an 8' bimini.

No VP's are GREAT motors..I hear they have starter issues..(JUST KIDDING, I saw your post)
I think OMC & Volvo had a package in the 90's right before OMC closed...
OMC's are bad news as far as most are concerned...Parts are scarce, most shops wont work on them, poeple dont know HOW to work on them, I should say...
It may ot be an OMC...not to scare you, but almost every OMC leg I have seen has been white..
Can ya take a close up of the leg, looking at it straight on?

so...is this a good thing or a bad thing?

i took that screw off the top cap and the oil was all the way at the top and very clean. i guess thats a good thing. i took off the plate that covers the shifter linkage and it was in good shape as well.
