I like having it too. Its older than me. But then again, $15.00 for 1 $1.00 seems like a good deal? Its just a good find. Kinda like catching the big one.

It's not so rare that you will retire on it..... but, the memory of the day your wife found a silver dollar in the rocks will last a lifetime!

Tell you what I can do. My friend is an expert at grading coins. Send them to me (I got a post office drop box) and I will get him to check them out for you free. Maybe offer you a price. If not I will just mail them back if you pay the postage.

It would take about $19.55 to buy what that dollar would buy in 1920.

You never know until you get a reputable dealer to look at it.

There are some coins that have extra strike marks or are missing some mint mark etc.

Cool find !

Im going to rent a metal detector this weekend and go back to check it out. You never know.

Re: Look what My wife found

In my youth I was a numismatist ,er, a coin collector. I still have that collection in an old metal tackle box. Wheat pennies, Indian head pennies, buffalo nickles, liberty dimes, Morgan Silver dollars, real silver quarters and half dollars, etc.

I'll have to scrounge around the house to locate my "treasure" and revisit some old memories.

Thanks for your post.
