looking at 1993 johnson 115hp, seller says problem with electrics

Asking $500 is this motor worth a look, would just bolt up in place force holes. I did run over and see the engine it says tracker johnson 115hp some special series guy had pontoon boat. I was thinking $300 for the motor but looks like a all year project. The flywheel turned over a little easy with the plugs in didnt have comp test. The prop was some composite thingy id never seen before. Most of the coils looked cracked the prop seem to turn nice in lower unit. Is it worth $300? Also it came with a separte oil tank thingy

Hard to say with out seeing it and especially without a compresson test. You could probably get 300.00 for parts on it if the tilt and lower end are in good shape. If you want to use it you really need to do a compression test.

comp test a must .check lower for water and shifting ,
check power trim . if ya gave three hundred ,and the comp numbers were good and the lower shifts , and it has working power trim ,then if ya want a project ,it wouldnt be a bad deal
