My neighbour has a 28' thundercraft w/twin V6 220HP. Running light he tops 40 knots and he usually cruises @ 24kn/2800rpm and gets 1.8nmpg. He's happy with it.

What year and model Sea Ray are you looking at? What are the horse power ratings for the engines? What drives are on the boat? Twin v6s for a boat that size should be fine.

The broker should have a copy of the 'Powerboat Guide'. It'll tell ya what the specs are for the boat with that configuration.

JP

Shawn...I used to have a 1989 29' Thundercraft with twin 4.3's, they were 4 bbl at 205 hp and I could get up in the low 40's 42-43 playing with engine trim and trim tabs. We would usually cruise around 28-30, got decent gas mileage plus a little extra room in the engine compartment.
