looking at a 71 slickcraft 28' i plan on using it on the great lakes, i have not owned a boat this big, or one with twin inboards, has only 400 original hours on twin 327s, is a bit faded, but is in excellent condition, all original and not hacked up from a little old man, it appears he used an in/out rack service at marina, has newer electronics, 3 axle trailer, has all service records

what should i look for if it has been sitting for a couple years?
i will test drive/ride?

any suggestions on what it could be worth?

thanks
rick

Well, I found out the boat has not run in 7 years, and has been stored at marina that long, i am not sure if it will even run, trying to get the owner to put fresh gas in it, and see if it will even turn over
had a marine survey 6 years ago and had a good rating, no rot, solid floor, stringers & transom, interior could be updated
any other info would be great
thanks

6 years is a long time.....

What outdrives are on the boat?

I would still get a survey......

My first boat was a brand new Slickcraft. I loved that boat. It was very well built and when I sold it, it was the only boat I ever sold for more that I paid for it. The guy who bought it brought it to a marina for a survey and was told that it was the Cadillac of boats for the time! Get a survey but I believe if taken care of it will give you many years of service.
