I dont know alot about Baja's in general but i found a H2X that i like. Its 2002 with 150 hours 1 owner, 496 mag, bravo outdrive, captains call exhaust, auto fire extinguishers, 2 props, power trim tabs, 2 batteries, depth finder, compass, snap on cockpit cover and mooring cover.

He is asking 28k for it. I have not idea if its good deal. i thought it was worth about 25k or so.

What are ther pros and cons to the H2X, from what i have read they are about a 70mph boat

Thanks guys

Don't know you and there is no way I am going to put my stamp on you driving a 60+ MPH boat, so tell us about yourself, is this your first boat? If so this is not your boat.

no this is my 3rd boat, i had a 2000 Milan 21ft open bow and a 1999 nordic with 496.

Any idea on if this is a good price on the baja, I read that the nordics are a better riding boat than the bajas?

ok cool, yes I hear that Nordics ride better as well, Milan's are fine boats also, wished they made more of them. I don't have specific information on the H2 except to say they are a decent riding fast boat, everyone I know who has these types of boats goes with a Nordic Fastech Advantage etc. I don't know what the deal is with Baja but I have been told to wait and buy better and faster, problem is I really like Baja's and have never seen anything other then what would lead me to believe they are a fine boat that goes pretty freaking fast! I looked at a H2 and truth be known I almost bought it just before I found my Crownline. I don't think they are as refined as a Crownline or Cobalt but they are no slouch either. If your looking for a great looking go fast and it looks to be in great shape go ahead but I think if I were you I would look at the others and compare them first hand.

Market value is completely regional, but by doing a quick google search I found several 2002's for around $20,000 on the bottom and at least one for $30,000 so I think your in the right area considering its unlikely you will pay asking price for this boat in the middle of the boating season, and you really need to go through the boat.

Ya i like the crownlines, just have not found any that i like in my area. I would be happy if i could get a crownline that would do 65 mph but i dont see that happening. I wish they made a go fast boat that you could wake board behind from time to time.

darn mastercrafts only go 45

I came across a 2003 H2X with a 496 with 150 hours for 25k 1 owner boat.

Re: Looking at buying a 2002 Baja H2X

yeah I hear ya, without a significant upgrade in power I'm stuck 55 MPH and while my wife is very happy with this speed I am not, but I'm not going to a go fast just yet, so I'm looking for a 502 upgrade in a couple years (maybe more) but I'm keeping my Crownie, its been the perfect boat for us and looks incredible.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't wake board behind a H2, it may not be perfect, but I think it will work just fine for anyone not looking for the perfect wakeboarding wake you know? I think your going to need to compromise a little bit there, give up a little wake for a lot of speed, the other side is that you could get some of those fillable bags to add weight near the back and give you more wake, maybe come up with a through transom water pickup and a switch driven pump and you could maybe stash the bags somewhere when not in use, make it really convenient...

Sorry I had to go change the oil and tranny fluid on one of my daughters cars....

Re: Looking at buying a 2002 Baja H2X

is that a big deal? I mean if the boat will not plane at 20, bow will be way high I have to think it would be kicking an enormous wake, May not need that tower, I mean I'm thinking an Evil Knievel sized wake here, as long as the boat holds the speed I don't see where the boat planing is an issue, but maybe I am missing something...

Oh I have a 25' boat I know all about looking over the bow and well its not always fun LOL

I don't know, I think you may be asking a bit much from a H2, hate to say it but I don't know that this boat will do everything you want it too.

Re: Looking at buying a 2002 Baja H2X

Baja is a decent offshore boat. So, even in the smaller sizes, you should get a good ride out of it. With a deep V hull planing is going to be 25+ mph. I also believe that they are lighter than the Formulas, so they will go faster and fly further. (so be careful !!! you really need a 30-35 foot boat under you to be going that fast)

The thing that I do not like about the Baja's and some of the similar boats is that they are a bit spartan and some do not have much of a windshield. So, if you have not taken it for a test ride, do so and see if the wind in our face is too much or OK.

How small are the cabins on the H2X, im 6'1 230lbs and i want to make sure my fat *** will fit in there. lol

I found a bunch of baja islander open bow boats but they are all on the dam east coast the 252 open bow with the 502 would be perfect, do bad they dont exist in seattle
