I'm looking at a 93 SeaRay 200 Overnighter w/a mercruiser 4.3L. The overall condition of the boat is incredible, and the engine runs great, it looks and drives like a new boat.

The problem, is the engine oil is somewhat grey. I've never seen oil this color. Any ideas?, don't want to pay a premium for this boat only to have to start pulling parts/engine.

I don't know when the last time the oil was changed, or if there are any know problems. The boat is being sold at by a broker and i haven't been able to talk to the previous owner yet.

TIA

Mike

...and of course as soon as you say that to the broker, they'll just change the oil so as to fool the next interested buyer.
