Would like to know what you all think about the Crestliner XCR 1462 utility-v
bottom boat. Along with a Sea Nymph of similar model number, this is another
small boat I am considering. I was considering another A-14 Lund, but I am finding the price on it to be higher than I'd like it to be for repeat purchase.
I have been quoted a price of $5,300.00 for a 2007 Crestliner XCR 1462 w/15
hp Yamaha motor, and trailer. The Lund was going at $3,000.00 to $4,000.00
more than the Crestliner. Not a thing wrong with Lund,Crestliner's sister brand,...but I am liking the price on the Crestliner alot better. I have been
told by the dealer that since these boats do not come prepackaged from the
factory, the brand of motor I choose to put on it will make no difference.

Re: Looking at Crestliner

I bought a Sportsman 16SS last summer with a trailer for a fair price. So far it's been a great boat. I bought a 25hp 2-stroke Yamaha tiller from a discount place and bolted it on my hull. (Much cheaper than the Crestliner dealer) Great, light engine. I also have a 9.9hp 2-stroke Yamaha, for the HP restricted lakes here in NJ. I put a big baitwell in the boat and with a fishing friend the 25 is not enough. You should consider a 25hp for your boat. They only weigh 106 lbs. I've got to find a 40 now...:(

Good luck, John

I have nothing but praise for my Crestliner. I've seen Sea Nymph's and Starcrafts and think Crestliners and Lunds are well worth the extra money. Remember that in our great USA, you get what you pay for.
