Only thing I can think of is that this engine should have the 2+2 cylinder disabling system. At low speeds only 2 cylinders work and as rpms increase fuel to the other 2 is increased to the point where they come into play. I have been told that if the engine is setup right you don't know when you make the transition.
I guess this is a fuel savings technique for folks who use one engine on a boat that they do things like trolling for Walleye.
