Moving to outboard, non-repair as this isn't really a maintenance issue..

Re: looking for '65 Johnson 5hp Lean/Rich Knob

It looks like a twin to mine. I have just completed the paint job on the hood. Mine had nto been run in over 5 years, but fired up on the third pull after I put in new plugs.

Question for you. Does your prop rotate counter clockwise? I took my prop to get rebuilt and he said it was reverse of the normal. This means that it will be hard to find a replacement prop if I ever need one.

Thanks - sent a mail off to twincityoutboards.com -- let's hope.

Moderator - sorry, thought that locating a part to replace came under repair. Would be very helpful if when you move a post you could link the old post to the new post.

Thanks!

THe 5hp is a direct drive and the prop rotates COUNTER-clockwise.

As for the knob - have you tried your local dealer? Similar knobs have been used for years on many models. Most long-established dealers have a whole drawer full of old knobs and stuff....

- Scott
