That would keep up with a jet ski:D I need something that is about 18-19ft max.

I really dont care ifit is a bowrider or a runabout.

Have been looking at old school jetboat and old school donzis (classic 18 and sweet 16). Anyother ideas?

What kind of jet ski are you trying to keep up with? Older ones only do about 40-45....the new ones though, those things haul ***. I think some have excess of 260hp, those will do close to 70-80mph I think.

Speed cost money, how fast do you want to go?

I think 65mph is all I am looking for with some to spare.

A small block Donzi is not going to get you to 65!

A sweet 16 with a 350 might get you up to 65....They came with a 4.3 though, so now your talking motor swap.

I saw a sweet 16 with a bracket and a 275 merc on the back a year or so ago....pretty sure that would be fast enough for you :)

Kawasaki 260X only hits 72-74mph stock. You would pretty much be looking at an old school jet boat with a big block and berkley pump, or a bass boat with about 225-250HP O/B on it. That's about all I can think of in the sub-20' range.

Plenty of vintage sweet 16s with V8s. The early ones had Holmen Moodey built engines. http://www.holmanmoody.com/

Donzi GT21 with a HM 427:
