Looking for a jet

Ive finally given up on old hokey motors and I'm in the process of shopping for new Merc outboard. I'm contemplating a 110 jet drive outboard. I cant find any performance data on light pad bottom boats like my 17 foot '81 Checkmate Enticer. Merc uses the 150 powerhead on the 110 and the 110 hp rating is out the tube. Ive never used a jet but I should. Ive wiped out 3 props in the last year. Nothing but rocks and murky water where I'm at but I'd still like to run 50 ish MPH. Anyone running a jet pump?

Jet outboards are usually used on aluminum hull boats. Weight is a major concern when comparing performance with the jet setup. Whats your total weight?

Look up outboardjets.com, they make the jet unit used on some (most) of the factory jet motors. Their site will give you the pros and cons of the conversion. the fishing boats I've seen on the river here are much noisier.
