have a 20ft proline cuddy with 200 johnson, according to manual should run at 5-6000 rpm at wot, right now running at 4200 at wot (35mph) with 14.25 x 21pitch 3 blade, also: will change in diameter affect rpm like change in pitch? thanks
Hi, Soce.

Has it always been this way? You are way down in WOT rpm and in top speed. Did it ever get to 5500 for you?

First, confirm that your engine is running on all 6 and throttles are opening all the way. That much loss of rpm suggests that you may be running on 5 cylinders.

A 21" seems a bit long. A larger diameter would improve "grip" on accelleration, but shouldn't affect top rpm or speed much.

If you are running 6 strong cylinders, get a dealer to loan you a 19" and try it out. You may need to drop to a 17".

Tell us how you are using your trim when on plane.

Good luck.
Just went through the same situation
Have a 205 Sundowner Cuddy with a 200 hp Rude Ocean pro
14x18 Raker was awesome with RPMS in the 5600 range, hole shot that is sweet.... top end at 50ish
14 1/4x19 5200 RPm decent hole shot, top end 53ish with decent load.
14 x21 great top end but RPMS to low under 5k. hole shot stunk.
Were thinking about shaving some off the 14x19 SS and see if we can improve hole shot.
Also ventilation holes on SS make a HUGE difference at hole shot with no impact on the top end.
These were all Stainless Steel. ALumuinum just don't cut it on this strong of motor.
Hope this helps.
