looking for a project boat, want an aluminum fishing boat with flat floors, my question is am i unrealistic or do people over value their stuff? the worst case so far has been a 29 yearold lund with no motor roton floor and transom, guy wanted 1295 i offered 800 and thought that was fair for a 29 year old boat no motor that needs work and the guy was offended.

Aluminum fishing boats are like pickup trucks, as long as they're usable they only get so cheap :D I have seen prices all over the board on boats like that in my area also.

Good analogy! Very true too.

And about glass work, don't be scared of it. I didn't know any thing about it (and pretty much still don't) before I started restoring a Skeeter I picked up for cheap. It's just glass, resin and wood. The rest is just details.

Fiberglass work is nothing to be afraid of. It is not rocket science, with the help of everyone here you will do just fine.

The advantages to a "Tin" boat is they are a LOT easier to restore. I have restored fiberglass boats, and currently working on a "Tin" boat. The "Tin" has been soooo much easier to work on. If you are patient you can find a good deal on one.

JAFO1, you're doing a great job on your boat. However, I personally wouldn't even consider doing a glass boat. No thanks! Tin all the way!!!!

Thanks! I didn't know better. I bought the boat and then tried to figure out how to fix it.

My wife just wants it gone!
