hey guys

i am looking for some pictures of bimini tops open on your boats. the ones that do not snap to the front windshield (i believe they are called huricane bimini)

i want to replace mine because it snaps to the windshield and i hate that for head room. would like to see the differences inbetween length of 4 and 6 foot...and also would like to get me excited to spend a few hundred dollars!

i also havent decided if i am going to mount it in the upright position with solid bars on the side as i feel they just get in the way

all opinions are much appreciated!!

Here are a few pics of mine. Mine is an 8' top on a 20' boat. I would never get one smaller. It covers from the rear bench seat to the windshield.

Here's a lil something I cobbled up for my boat. Remember: Think as close to right angles for straps and/or stiff bars. Framework too.

I don't have pictures yet but I have a 21' boat and bought the 4 bow 8' top. It shades the from the windshield to the sun deck from 10:00 till 3:00 with no problems. With the 42" high poles I can just stand under it to drive and I am 6'0 tall. I would not recommend anything less than a 4 bow.

Not a very good pic. We have two different mounting points so I can drop it down about 6" if I want to.

I was really disappointed in this thread. Guess I'll have to pay more attention next time, that "m" instead of a "k" between the "i"s makes a huge difference! :)

Ok - I am pleasantly confused now....are we talking bimini tops or fenders? Either way, I vote that set.....

I had the Capri top that snaps to the windshield. It was pretty sexy but not practical as you have to virtually crawl in and out from under it. However, it was good and dry and warm in the winter.
When it wore out replaced with a bimini and had it made tall enough to walk under. Couldn't find a matching color so decided to contrast. Debated between blue and dark green.
