I recently purchased a NTM Four Winns Freedom 180. It will be used for family fun and fishing. I bought a used Motorguide Brute TM with the gator mount. My problem now is how to mount it. The wife says she would "prefer" to not have it permanently mounted to the bow with bolts and holes cut into our new boat.
I was thinking of building some type of fishing platform that would sit across the bow seats. I would carpet it and mount a fishing chair to it. I was wondering if I could mount the TM to the platform.
Has anyone ever seen any ways or ideas on how to mount the TM to such a platform. I am envisioning some type of bracket system that would rise up at the bow end of the platform and allow me to mount the TM to it instead of the bow itself.
Anyone done this or seen it done before? If I have to end up cutting holes in the boat and having this "Huge" - she says - TM on the boat permanently, my fishing days may be limited!!!
