Looking for briefcase locks

I recently bought a briefcase, and upon receiving it, I found that the lock does not work. I called the company, and they do NOT sell locks by themselves.

Does anyone know of a good site with choices for locks? I've googled them, and found several sites, but nothing that I wanted.

I'd post a pic, but my son, (who normally helps me with such matters), is gone.

It's a lock that you have to push a button, to release the catch. It's a dual combo lock. It does not have a "flipper", (the top part that bends over), and snaps into the lock body. Like a normal briefcase.

Thanx

Re: Looking for briefcase locks

You could look for a local luggage repair shop. I think they are a dying breed of downtown type businesses, usually run by old immigrant type guys, but you may still have one in your area.

I assume you did not buy it new, or else you would return it? It is probably made in a foreign land as opposed to being constructed by the company with it's name on it. That is probably why they do not have components for it.

Re: Looking for briefcase locks

Its a long story. I "DID" buy it new. It's an unusual Burl Wood look case. The e-bay guy that I bought it from, won't even answer me. (I turned him in to E-Bay), but the company sent me a "damaged one" to use as a parts case. I just wanted to find another lock of some sort to make the other one work. It's a nice case. I will eventually find one, just figured that someone was smarter than I am at finding them. :)

AND, you may very well be right. There may be an old luggage store around. I will look.

Thanx !!!!
