I am looking for a good Sky and family boat, currently thinking about a glastron or Sea Ray. Please make suggestions. Looking for about 19 to 20 feet long.

We just bought a 1999 GS 180 / Mercury 150 EFI outboard and love it. It seats 8 comfortably, and the 150 gives plenty of power for skiing--even with a boat full of adults. Good luck.

You can't go wrong with either boat. I have a 2000 glastron 175 sx with the 3.0 mercruiser. my friend who got me into boating has a 09 sea ray 185 with 3.0 in it. both great boats but my boat plane's faster than his.

I heard glasstrons are a rough ride, is that true? I will use it on a medium sized lake, it can get rough if everybody is out.

Although different boats my glastron 215 rides MUCH smoother than my elipse did at 17.5'. Mine also rides lots smoother than my buddies bayliner of about the same size (21.5' or so)

It's a relative comparison. My GT 205 rides rougher than my folks Sea Ray BR 210 because the Sea Ray weigh 700+lbs more. But my GT 205 rider smoother than my old 1987 SeaRay Seville 19 BR because the GT 205 is heavier. In this case, the heavier boats tend to ride smoother.

The heavier the dry weight of a small bowrider, the more expensive a brand it was when new. Glastron is a nice, middle of the road boat with a middle of the road weight. In addition to the dry weight where ride is concerned you need to look at the deadrise and the length of the running surface. There is a science and a method to hulls and a process in figuring what fits your needs if you want a certain thing out of a boat. Many times folks have no clue the differences and buy what looks pretty or is in their budget only to learn the lay of the land later on. In a broad stroke, where everything but the engine is concerned given all boats use the same batch of I/O's, you get what you pay for. In the small bowrider class with a few exception such as the mid to late 2000's Sea Ray's there is no mark up just bacause it is a Toyota. The used market is great to beat the system and negotiate a better overall deal as compared it's slot in the manufacturer line up when new. Lots of times folks need to off load their boat for reason's that they wouldn't face if it was their car.
