I, like a lot of visitors to this site, miss the boatinfo.no/lib site. While there is a wealth of knowledge here, that was also a great source .Here is my dilemma, I would like to find a copy [printed or electronic] of what I knew only as "The Big Red Book" It was a guide posted on that site, however I never bothered to get the real name or who printed it. Covering a lot of years and models I referenced it quite often . So,, does anyone, who used that site, and knows what guide I am referring to, know where to get a copy? or even the real name of it ? Thanks in advance

There is a lot of good info in that book. It has some of the best info regarding the first Electric Shift gearcase I have ever seen.

that book and all OMC service manuals were and still are published by and sold thru the Ken Cook company

Ken Cook is a technical writing and manual publishing house and has done the factory manuals for most of the automotive and marine companies as well a many heavy equipment companies.

it was removed by the Mods as a copyright issue.

MOD EDIT - It's still copyrighted material.

As a side note, if you Google boatinfo.no and click on the link with the IP address in it, it will take you to the sight and it will work.

With my hard copy, I had the book back edge cut away by the local print shop , split the book in two and install plastic spring binders and some plastic sheets to protect the front and back sides of each book created.

The original face page was reproduced and added to book #2 .

Splitting the book allows easy page turn overs thanks to the spring binders & you can lay it flat on the work bench

Book 1 is carburation and ignition

Book 2 is Lower units, electricals, general info and pictures etc...

(you can also get them to scan the whole book into a PDF file for your laptop)
