I'm in Greenville, in the upstate of SC. My local outboard mechanic has retired...and I'd like to strike up a relationship with another local guy whom I'll go to when I need something. I don't like working with large shops where you don't know your mechanic, and where you're treated more like a number. Yeah, I realize those shops are more likely to be certified. My previous guy was not...but he stood behind his work, I knew and trusted him, and he also offered good prices. I'm more about relationship than I am company recognition.
That said...does anyone here know of a good Mercury OB mechanic in the upstate of SC? Mine is a 1995 60 hp 2 stroke. Runs like a champ, but I'd currently like to simply get a general check-up and also be evaluated for prop toward optimal performance. Thanks.
