Looking for opinions on prop

I have an 84 19 foot open bow Rinker with a 3.0L 140 hp Mercruiser I/O. Currently it has a 14 3/8" x 21P Stainless 3 blade Michigan Wheel Ballistic prop. It is too much for it as it only runs 3800 rpm at WOT with just me, full cooler, and a full tank of gas. Local prop guy recomended a Mercury High 5 prop in a 13 1/2" x 17P prop. Any ideas, suggestions, opinions on this?

Those props are pricey. Seen one on the rack for over $1000cdn at one of the local boat dealers. They are a great prop but hard to justify the expense, especially on an older boat. I'd look at a 4 blade aluminum as they are priced more reasonably.
