Sounds like you need one for a smaller motor. It might help to state the motor size so you dont end up with one big enough for a V6. <br /><br />Good luck!

What about making a fixed jackplate from 1/4" thick glavanized channel? I know it will weigh more, but I can get this stuff for free from our shop and drill the holes myself.<br /><br />Think it will work?

why not, walleyehead made his own out of 5 inch aluminum channel 3/8 thick

I think I am going to try it out using either channel or two 3" angles welded together to give a total of 6" setback. This will be free so if it doesn't turn out right, who cares?<br /><br />Is 3" wide enough for the flanges where the motor will mount?

I have one made of 1/4 inch aluminum plate that I used to mount my kicker motor for cheap

Can anyone point me in the right direction for getting a standard BIA bolt mounting diagram to punch the holes for the jack plate?
