Only one I know of that I used to deal with out on the west coast was Outboard Recycle. They deal with dealers as far as I can tell. But these people will be glad to act as middlemen for a profit.

http://seilermarine.com/obr/

Re: looking for yamaha salvage yards

Yes,I did come down to races at Crystal River, Moorehaven and outside Orlando. I raced a 21 ft Allison Bass boat with an OMc sponsored by Chatanooga Marine. I also ran a 20 ft Allison with a Yamaha. I also ran at Miami Marine Stadium too many years ago to talk about. That was a Molanari tunnel with an OMC. Late 80's and early 90's for the drag races. I always enjoyed the Florida sites, but the Manatee patrol cost and other restrictions drove the assn's under.

I remember your boat. I ran into Jannette and David Rakes at the National Marine Service Expo last month. David still has his Allison.

Re: looking for yamaha salvage yards

I just talked to him last week. He gets some parts and info from me from time to time. He and his son both have Allisons now. Rick Conklin moved to Chicago and runs with the gang now.David still laughs about that Elephant Express beating those hot rods. I won a couple of bracket racing ADBA National Championships with that monster. I just got back from my son's in Tarpon Springs. I did get down to Lake Placid lomg enough to go fishing with Bob Kottman. Was nice to thaw out. Cold and rainy here.

Wow, that brings back some old memories. I saw Joel Feeger (Joels Outboard) at the Miami show. He still has his Allison. He says it hasnt moved in a couple of years but he's still got it.

Those races were fun but the travel time now is just too much. I had lunch with Monty a month ago and he says they leave on Thursday and sometimes its Tuesday before they're back in the shop.

Re: looking for yamaha salvage yards

I see Monty once or twice a year at races. Those were fun times, but I know what he means about the travel times. The really big advantage to me of the rope racing is that I can make 12 races a year without getting over 250 miles from home. Getting too old to make those long trips on a regular basis. When I think about those three wide testing sessions at Moorehaven, I wonder if I would enjoy that as much as I did then. I sure don't think I would make those 1000 mile one way trips for a race weekend any more, even though we may try Phoenix this year. We don't get to pick on that IHBA bunch of big block people but a couple of times a year now. Bigfun, I will be looking for your mail.

We've been working with Monty on a couple of things so I may try to make a race or two this year that his guy is in.

Hope to see you then!

That would be great. Haven't looked close at the schedule yet. Jasper is likely the only ODBA race I will make. Kottman and Lipton went by his shop the other day.
