Looking to buy 2008 GT 205 with the following: 5.0-220 HP, convience and XL package, tower, 65 hours. Asking $23,400. Is this a resonable price for this entry level boat?

Seems to be in the neighborhood on pricing. Definitely look for any wear or damage that could be used to talk the price down with. A boat that new should be in pretty great shape.

Price it out on NADA Guides if you haven't already, and don't forget that the trailer is priced out separately which for a boat this size would likely add a couple thousand to the total value.

You may also want to check to see what your nearest dealer has in stock on this or a similar model. Many of them still have 2009's (and earlier) that they are closing out at pretty low prices. You may be able to get a brand new one for not much more.

Good luck.

My 2010 ran me $29K and change with the 4.3L volvo, wakeboard tower, XL package, low profile black windsheild.

Mine handles rough water pretty well. Only thing I'd call out as a potential issue is that water can come up over the bow if it's rough enough. Not a huge deal though with a fiberglass floor and plenty of drains.

TRUTH! You actually need to plow with the bow up to prevent most of the waves coming over. I was out in some 3.5-4' chop trying to cross the Chaumont River/ Lake Ontario channel into another bay and it was interesting.

Normal 1-2' waves the hull rides right over them like they are not even there. I wouldn't do it with a loaded wake board tower tho. Full racks and speakers shake like crazy in heavy chop if you get a tower on your boat.

I've got the GT-185 and it gets rough with 3 foot swells if you can't stay on top of the crests. As long as you can keep it on plane your okay.
