I have been looking around lately for a fuel/water separator for my 94' 70hp Force. Ive looked at sites like Basspro, Cabela's, Overton's, Gander Mountain, and West Marine and Walmart.

Looking at reviews, it appears that lots of people have issues with most of these units for sale on these sites. Also, they all are in the range of $30-$50. I want to buy a cheaper separator but I also want a reliable one.

Can anyone let me in on what separator they have, how much it cost, where it was purchased, and what you think of it? Thanks!

Re: Looking To Buy A Fuel/Water Separator - Suggestions???

The Walmart fuel/water separator($27) has worked like a charm on my 1999 Yamaha 90HP carbed 2 stroke motor, very easy to install, I just unscrew cartridge, dump it, screw it back on, keep a new spare($8)on boat just in case. I believe these separators are without a doubt the best thing since sliced bread for preventive maintenance. Use the Stabil Marine all the time and drain each carb a couple of times a year. Good Luck!

If you can get the stainless steel version, less prone to corrosion. I put a sierra branded 10 micron model from west marine on mine not to long ago.
