Hey guys

First time poster. I am looking at getting a 99 bayliner 2355 with a 6.2 mpi mercruise bravo 1. I looked at it today and would say that it is in pretty good shape. It was likely stored in salt water as there was some minor corrosion on the out drive and various screws and fittings throughout the boat. It had a cockpit canvas cover so the deck and cabin looked to be in mint condition. I got the dealer down to 12.5k with the trailer. How does this deal look to you guys? Here's the link

Welcome to IBOATS.

The bottom paint is also a good indication it was a slipped boat as both my Sea Ray and Maxum boats were slipped in salt water and had bottom paint.

As with most used boats, you really want to get a hull survey done that needs to include looking for water damage to the transom/stringers along with a mechanical inspection of the engine and drive.

Interior and cockpit does look decently clean.

What's that green square shaped tote to the engine's right side that looks like it has water in it?

That's a dealer in Upland so see what their sea trial policy is even if you need to pay for it and see if you can take a test at Puddingstone Lake down the road.

Thanks Mark. I will definitely get a survey done before purchasing. Puddingstone Lake is really close. Perhaps they would be open to a trial there. Any other opinions on the boat and price?

It'd be a fair price around here, too, if the boat and trailer are in really nice shape. I never heard of the 'Inland Empire', though- is it in some galaxy far, far away?

The Metro areas that are east of Los Angeles are considered the Inland Empire. Riverside and San Bernadino counties IIRC

Welcome to iboats!:welcome:

Around me that would be a decent price if the boats as represented. I really like the fact it has the big block engine, they had to be special ordered so someone spent the extra bucks to have a better boat and that's always a good indication.
The 6.2L is a small-block. But it's still a nice setup.
