Looking to possibly upgrade my Fishfinder

Need some advice if this is worth it or not. I currently have a Garmin Striker 4DV with CHIRP. I found a a Garmin CHIRP 44CV with echoMap on it. I primarily use my current Garmin as a chartplotter more than a fishfinder which is why I I like the Echomap as it has an actual chart on it vs just setting waypoints. I had a couple of questions...if I upgrade what are the chances that the new one will use the same tranducer? The boat is already in the water, so changing out the transducer is not an option. Second question, is it worth upgrading for the echoMAP? Still kinda new to the whole chartplotter thing. I do not go out into open ocean and stay primarily in the bay.

A chart plotter is so much more than way points....Go for it.

Bit the bullet and picked it up. Mounted and everything appears to be working just fine. Didn't get a chance to bring her out, but powers up and reads the transducer.
