Hello,
I currently have a 1992 19' DC Sea Pro with a 115 Merc. I have been boating for about 6 years and with my experience growing, as well as my family, I need a bigger boat. I live in Connecticut and mostly fish with my two kids while my wife relaxes. I would like to purchase something large enough to make it to Block Island as well as spend the night on it.
The big question of course is what make or makes should I be looking at and what should I stay away from. Also I am torn between getting two motors or one. I figure two motors has double the maintenance and double the fuel cost.
I am comfortable with outboards and I think they have less maintenance and less up keep then an inboard, IO,or diesel.??
it is worth spending extra to get a four stroke, or are the 2 strokes sufficient.
I am trying to keep in mind the cost and time it takes to winterize, fuel consumption, etc. Are specific engine makes better then others at this?
My original searches have been for a newer then 2000 outboard, 24-28' Cuddy, with a price tag of 25-40K
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
