Loss of power at WOT

My 79 Merc 115 sat for two months since last outing and started stalling at full throttle. Last time I had it out it ran like a champ. Could my fuel have soured in that short of time. It runs fine in all throttle positions except for wide open. Any suggestions...

If you think the problem may be fuel delivery, then hook up a known good source of fuel ( a six gallon portable tank is a fine temporary tank ). If the problem still exsists, then it is not bad fuel. The problem will be in the engine, as opposed to the boat. Check the fuel lines for air leaks, & the fuel pump for debris.
