Loss of Power

Mercury in-line 6 will not come up tp speed, motor seem to functio properly just won't come up to speed.

Last week while returning from a trip the boat was running great, then just loss power, I thought it was the lower unit and took in for service. They installed a new impeller and and said everything was working great. Went back out on the water today and had the same problem. NO POWER

1984-86 90 HP Mercury.

Please Help.

Do you have spark at all cylinders? Have you done a compression test?

take it back, it was in for loss of power, not bashing Mechs, they probably checked the lower unit, put it on muffs and said good enough. if you have even compression, and good spark, it points imho to carbs, which this time of year is common. esp[ecially if the engine sat all winter.
