Loss of power.

I recently replaced my propeller on a 1995 Mercruiser 3.0LX. Replaced with original diameter and pitch(13.75 x 21). I put it back in the water for testing and it ran fine (40MPH @ 4200RPM). One day later it had no power(30MPH @4200RPM). The hull is rough but no major growth. I have done nothing to the engine since buying used 3 weeks ago. Any suggestions on what may have happened? I pulled it out of the water to recheck the prop and it seems fine. I am new to boating and am seeking advice.

Thanks,

Don Hunter

Re: Loss of power.

Update, I read some of the prop forums and learned about prop slip. Question: I don't have a rubber hub that I can see, only a metal sleeve inside the prop that fits into the gears of the shaft, so how could it be prop slip? Also it seems to run at higher RPM's when idled down in the no-wake zones.
