Lost a piece while trailering, need to know WHAT TO CALL IT to order one.

I lost the steel rod that you put through the bracket on the outboard, that keeps it in the up position while trailering. You raise the motor, slide this bar in the trim adj holes, and put a large cotter pin to keep it from sliding out. It supports the engine. 88 Force 125. I need to know what it's called so I can find one.

Ok, everybody knows how to choose piston rings, and expertly cross-hatch a cylinder, but over 80 people couldn't tell me what the piece I lost is called!! :^)

It is called the trailering bracket and yes, it will be worth the time to make one. Just be sure to keep the original; angkle so it will hit the bosses on the engine.

You can use 1/2 inch stainless or you can use 1 inch square tubing (which may show in the second photo)

yes, right now, a wedge shaped piece of hardwood is working well.. but one shall be made soon.......

From time to time they are available on e-bay.
Very important,don't run with the piece of wood.
It can pop out and the motor is bouncing up and down and it can damage the seals and you'll be needing a rebuild.
How much ground clearance when in the down position??
Bet you don't forget the cotterpin again!!!

I have to admit I lost my but went back to find it. I did find it in the middle of the road and only about 10 miles away. :facepalm:
