Awesome story ... you have quite the legacy there! He sounds like quite the Grandaddy. Teared up when I saw how he went home ... mother is suffering and it is always difficult to see one so strong, vibrant, and active fall to such a disease.

My condolenses for your loss, but it is great you are celebrating his life! Remember the good times, not the end.

Re: Lost a treasure

Lord our God, the death of Walter Clowers Shell recalls our human condition and the brevity of our lives on earth. But for those who believe in Your love, death is not the end, nor does it destroy the bonds that You forge in our lives. We share the faith of Your Son's disciples and the hope of the children of God. Bring the light of Christ's resurrection to this time of testing and pain as we pray for Walter Clowers Shell and for those who love him, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

I am sorry to hear of your loss; please accept my condolences.

I couldn't help but think as I read your granddaddy's obituary that the world would be such a better place if everyone had obit's that read like Walter Shell's. He lead a fulfilling life from the sounds of it and there's no doubt why you are rightly proud of him.

Re: Lost a treasure

Thanks for the kind words. I'm driving down there tomorrow for a few days to help relatives clean up his house.

I know we get busy, but find time to spend with your family and tell them how much they mean to you. When they're gone, they're gone.
