lost key omc control box

the only number I could find in the box is OA7521.<br />Can anyone do anything with this number? Thanks..

Did you look right on the face of the key switch where you put the key in? Can't remember which ones it was but some of the older switchs had the key number marked there. Was the key a double sided key or single?

Well, the actual key switch is black and I didn't see any numbers (inside or out). I'll look again. The key however, is single sided. I just found out the 50 hp Johnson engine is a 1984. Not that that's going to help with the CB. Thanks for the help. T.

Terry.... Look closely at the portion of the switch that turns with the key. That's where the number should be. If it isn't there (worn off or a off brand switch), purchase a new ignition switch.

I apologize for not having my info straight. The motor/control box has been out in the weather for awhile. The owner, an elderly man has had health problems and cannot walk well much less work on his boat. He told me if I can get it going and refurbish the boat (an older Seaworthy fiberglass pontoon boat)it's mine. So long as I stop by and give him a ride once it's finished and he's feeling better. Thanks for all the help... T.
