Lost my Dad Last night

Well, after a bad bout of pneumonia followed by a bad fall that broke his hip my Dad (80+ yrs old) passed away last night. He was surrounded by my sisters and me so I'm pretty sure that even in a state of heavily supported semi-consciousness (respirators, etc) that he knew we were all there as he passed.
Damn, its going to be a long day.

BP, sorry to hear about your dads passing.
It is good to hear that the family could be there for him in his final hours, thats something i missed when my dad passed.

My Dad passed in his sleep at the age of 60 in 1982. I still think of the times we fished together.

May your family have strength in your time of sorrow.

My heart aches for you, BP. My dad passed from pneumonia 22 year ago after a fall that broke his hip. He was 84 and in dementia. I think he was ready and willing to go, but he left a big hole in my heart.

May your dad rest in peace. Be assured that he is free from pain.

Lost my father in 1988 he was sticken with cancer. A very difficult time for me, everytime I would get into trouble he was there for me and the one time he needed help I was unable to get it done. Today I realize that is just the way life works sometime's... but he also gave me a sense or direction or responsbilty.

Today I have my own children and when they have difficulty I am right there for them, my wife think's I am a little protective but I assure her I am not I am just giving back what was given to me and have began to realize he is still with me everyday. It would be nice to smile at him and tell him I get it now.
