I have a 1975, Mercury 650 and lost the reverse.
I was working on in but that was for fuel suppley and carb problems. As far as I know I have not done anything to the lower unit that I think,
would have effected it.
When I place it in reverse it reve's high but does not engage. It works well in forward.
I've read here on other posts that I may have to place a shaft back in place in the lower unit. I just have to figure how to get the lower off to do that.
