i have twin 260s and when I went out the other day, one of them was Reving but not really pushing. It was at about 4000 RPM and nothing. Checked the props and no debris. Took prop off and had it looked at by my prop guy but no spun hub. Blades seemed fine with no imperfections. What is my next step? Where should I look next?

Yes, I'm thinking coupler

When is the last time alignment was checked?

Sterndrive. How can I check the coupler? Currently in water. Do I have to pull it?

Put it in gear and give it a few revs. If the engine starts getting hot, the problem is the coupler (of a broken shaft above the water pump)...

Regardless of where the problem is, the drive needs to come off.

Pull the boat

If its a broken shaft, drive must come off

If its a bad coupler, drive comes off and motor gets pulled

If you havent checked alignment recently, do both couplers
