Lost top end power on trolling motor

I have a motorguide lazer II 52lb. thrust. Today I noticed I did not have much power when I turned it up to max speed. I charged my batteries yesterday, so I don't think it's a problem with that. I took off the prop and removed a bunch of line that tangled inside. That did not help the problem. Any suggestions on what the problem might be, what to look for and how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

If you are sure all your connections are good, you could have the batteries load tested at your local auto parts store. There is a possibility that line you removed from under the prop damaged the seal. IMOHO If it were me, I'd throw it away and buy a Minn Kota. Yep, your right, I don't like Motor Guide!

Think I found the problem. Did some tinkering inside the head of the trolling motor and found that the red power line was loose. Now it seems like it runs as good as new.
