Hi all Wanted to thank everyone who helped me get the bugs out of my 3.0lx. My last problem was that the one time out with the boat it wouldn't run smooth past 2000rpm. Yet it cranked fine and ran smooth any where below that.Turned out to be the module was going bad. I read on a web sight that sales est modules that they can go half bad and still start fine and run fine below 2000rpm, but not advance the timing when rpms are raised above 2000. But now that I got it running good again I've discovered the block was cracked just below the head gasket. Some one before me had put what looks like JB Weld over the crack and painted over it.I found some water in my oil and ran a pressure test of the block by blocking off the thermostat hose going to the intake, and connecting a water hose to the sea water hose connection. Wasn't but five minutes till the oil pan was full of water, as were the cylinders. Also had water leaking from the head gasket. Just my luck. That JB Weld patch was spraying like a water fountain too.Guess running it that one time at the lake warmed every thing up enough to let the water start getting into the oil. I didn't think to check it once it was back home till now. Its back to square one I guess.Again, thanks so much to all you guys who taught me so much . You were a huge help and I really appreciate all of you.
